Overwatch double EXP weekend (June 8th - 12th 2017)
Blizzard has dropped the goods today! It has been announced that this weekend is a double exp weekend! Yay! The double EXP weekend is available for everyone on all platforms, yes, those of you who play on PS4 and XBOX One you are included. This means that players are able to earn those sweet Anniversary Event loot boxes twice as fast!
I'll be playing every chance that I get to make the most of it. I'm still grinding away to get all the dance emotes and skins that I can before the anniversary event wraps up on June 12th 2017.
"I've got my eye on you" - Mercy. Yep, I've got my eye on your dance emote, Miss Mercy! Check her out doing "the hustle" in the background of this image.
I was really hoping that Blizzard would drop a double exp weekend sometime soon as I only started playing Overwatch just over a month ago and I haven't quite earned my first star for my player portrait yet. I'm sitting at level 96 as of this post. For those who do not know what I'm talking about there is an explanation from the Overwatch Wiki quoted below. I say this because I got to about 50 levels in before I even realised what was actually going on as there is no in-game explanation for it.
Anyway, I hope you all manage to earn a lot of progress towards your stars and grab some awesome stuff out of your loot boxes this weekend.
Now if you will excuse me - swiggity swag swooty, I'm coming for that looty! ;)

"The border is shown around the player's hero when viewing players in a match. Portrait borders change in appearance every 10 levels. After getting a promotion, it changes back to the first border and continues to change again after 10 levels. The promotion also affects the portrait border as stated below:Then at level 601 you lose your bronze stars and they get replaced with a single silver star, the process then repeats for gold and platinum. Which I think is pretty cool.
After the promotion at level 101, players will get one bronze star under the portrait border. Players will get one more bronze star at level 201, and again at level 301, 401, 501, up to 5 bronze stars."
