Anime Master List

I've decided to create a master list for all of the anime content that I've consumed either partially or to completion.  The idea being that it will serve as something I can send friends/people I'm trying to get close with so that we can discuss any overlaps with the Anime that we enjoy.  I'll also be making a TV Show and a Movie list at some point too! I figure that it will also be helpful for people who would like to reach out with suggestions based on my viewing history too. I've opted to number the list purely so that I know just how many different Anime I have watched, this is in no way an indication of how I value the show or a viewing order! The list is in Alphabetical order to make it easier for people to look for something specific!  Anyway, here is the list! Last Updated:  6th November 2024 Completed/In-Progress: Angel Beats Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day Ao no Exorcist Ao no Exorcist - Kyoto Fujouou-hen Bleach Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Cros...

Doctor Woke: The 60th Anniversary Disappointment

Image
I'm p retty disappointed with the first part of the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special. I wanted to watch The Doctor and Donna in a cool reunion plot. I really wanted to relive the glory days of the modern show! Instead, they've retconned one of the best stories from that time, the Doctor-Donna! This was beyond distastefully handled. Too much woke "the message" bullshit that was expected to hold up the "plot" It felt a lot like Star Trek: Discovery in that regard... Those on the internet who are of similar opinions to my own on this matter are being shot down and gas lit. "Doctor Who has always been progressive" "What about Captain Jack Harkness?" are their arguments. Firstly, there is a difference between the show being progressive like it was and what we have now. What we had previously were subtle hints here and there that were never the focal plot points or take-away messages from the episodes. You could take or leave the message...

"Which Character" Personality Quiz

I came across a personality quiz that aims to identify fictional characters that align best with your personality based on how you score during a series of personality related questions. If you're interested in learning about the quiz or taking it yourself, you can do so here . Below at the top 100 characters that were generated as my result. They're ranked starting from the highest percentage of similarities to those less alike. You can view my full list of results  here if you're curious, but in all honestly I think the top 100 should be more than enough entries to paint the picture.  The characters that I have come across while consuming entertainment mediums, do indeed seem like characters that I would gravitate towards as being similar to myself. (I've highlighted them in yellow)  But there are a lot of unknowns on the list that I can't speak for.  Elsie Hughes  (Westworld): 91% Kyle Broflovski  (South Park): 89% Rita  (The Handmaid's Tale): 89% ...

Pirates of the Caribbean

Image
Notes: Full disclosure with this one. I had originally wanted to discuss Pirates of the Caribbean on my blog way back in 2017 and I'd have had a rough draft for what I wanted to talk about sitting around this whole time. I've decided that now is the time to finally finish up what I wanted to say and publish the post. Obviously, this was before the whole Depp vs. Heard and Disney drama. So, what I've written remains in the context of that and not in the events that have happened since, savvy?  __________________________________________________________________________________ It appears that whenever Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is bought up, that you can sort out peoples reactions into three groups. Firstly, there those who love it; the people who could have grown up with the franchise and/or are invested enough to be involved to some extent in the wider fandom community surrounding it. Secondly, you have those who are the exact opposite, they despise i...

Error 404, Toreshii not found!?

Greetings! I have returned! It sure has been a while between posts.... you know.... considering my last post was back in 2018! A lot has changed since then. I've changed jobs (currently working 2 different gigs at the same time, actually!), partners and purchased my first home. I upgraded my PC because my GTX 970 in the old rig somehow managed to catch fire when I booted my PC up on the 1st of January 2020. Heh, it must have known what the year was going to bring and it wanted OUT! Anyway, a lot hasn't changed too. I'm still into the idea of keeping a blog for dumping gaming related and other random musings. I'd very much like to return to posting content here that I deem suitable for the public and for people who know me IRL that can find me by my handle around the interwebs.  This seems like the best place to accomplish that.  Speaking of. Here is a neat picture of a lady with a skull that I wanted to share, because, why not?  I couldn't find the artist credit, ot...
